О., 29) Peter McNamara (University of Queensland) I will give a gentle introduction to what a KLR algebra is and talk about their representation theory and connections to PBW and canonical bases of quantum groups. The KLR algebras are algebras introduced by Khovanov, Lauda and Rouquier for the purposes of categorifying Lie algebras and/or quantum groups, a subject which has grown recently with the discovery of many categorical Lie algebra actions.
