Casey Blecker, Reduction of multisymplectic manifolds
Abstract: A multisymplectic manifold is a smooth manifold that is equipped with a closed and nondegenerate differential form of arbitrary degree. In this talk, we first review the Marsden-Weinstein-Meyer symplectic reduction theorem, and then show how this result extends to multisymplectic manifolds. We also present a multisymplectic extension of the Duistermaat-Heckman theorem, which characterizes the dependence of the reduced space on the choice of reduction parameter.
